By downloading or using SpanishPal ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Roberto Escobar ("we," "us," "our").
You must be at least 13 years old to use SpanishPal. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement.
SpanishPal is a subscription service. Access to conversation practice requires an active subscription.
Plans:
Free trial: The 7-day free trial is available on the yearly plan only, for new subscribers who have not previously activated a trial. Your payment method will not be charged during the trial period. To avoid being charged, you must cancel before the trial ends.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (1 year or 1 month) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Charges are processed by the store where you subscribed, according to the terms shown at checkout. Renewal price is the then-current plan price.
Cancellation: Cancel at any time in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → SpanishPal, or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SpanishPal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
Restore purchases: If you previously purchased a subscription, tap "Restore Purchases" on the subscription screen to restore access on a new device or after reinstalling.
Payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID account or Google through your Google Play account. Prices listed here are US-dollar reference prices; your local price and currency are shown in the app and confirmed by your store at checkout. We do not have access to your payment card details.
Both plans include 100 minutes of connected voice practice per UTC calendar month, shared across Speak, Lessons and Roleplay. Listening and pauses count. The allowance resets on the first of each month; unused minutes do not roll over. A 30-minute daily limit and 10-minute session limit also apply. There are no overage charges. Restoring purchases or deleting and reinstalling the app does not reset the subscription allowance.
SpanishPal's conversation features are powered by third-party artificial intelligence services. Depending on the feature:
By using the App's conversation features, you consent to your voice audio and conversation text being processed by these third-party services. We do not use your conversations to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details.
AI responses are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate. SpanishPal is a language practice tool, not a certified language instruction service.

All content, design, and software in the App is owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI responses will be accurate. Language learning results vary by individual.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
